This workshop was organised as a continuation of the project to implement a network of veterinary diagnostic laboratories and animal disease monitoring in the Caribbean. It reunited participants from veterinary services, laboratories, government agencies, research institutes, universities and NGOs of Cuba, Haiti, the Dominican Republic and Guadeloupe, as well as representatives from IICA and the USDA. It aimed at promoting exchange of sanitary information and experience on epidemiological monitoring, and defining the possible interventions within a future project funded by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs to “Support regionalisation and harmonisation of animal disease epidemiosurveillance networks”.
